"CONVERGING SCATTERED MOSAIC"

-

All started with the site surroundings where 3 main aspect is focuses:

(i) Multiracial & Multi-religious: The lack of space for communal activities as held every year.

(ii) Green Pockets: Segregated greens made local residence do strive for better green spots in the neighborhood.

(iii) Walkable Community: Some of the road for pedestrian are not properly pave, and there is no proper resting spot along.

Further combined with the concern about Ageism, by understanding their daily routine, it is found that the period of time where all-generations will most likely spending their time in park. As the main aim of caring for the elderly is to ensure that they can have a quality life in their twilight year.

AMALGAMATION

-

It is the blend of culture, rather than one group eliminating each other; Converging the scattered mosaic to an up-lifted collective Salutogenic platform for intergeneration living by the means of merge and layering, gluing each titbits of the neighborhood.

With that being said, it is derived from the site issues and the concerns that need to be focuses (Ageism). Sense of segregation and loneliness would hit up in the noon & night time. The long period of loneliness, especially in the noon, will eventually leads to several health issues. Significantly happens if one of the partners has passed away.

Healing programs to be proposed mainly on-ground and on-podium stretching through the site to maximize the relationship towards the community, draws the environment as a point of 'stop'. Focuses on human circulations from the ground level to the units on top. Communal pockets from floor to floor allow residents to plant their own (small) crops in the same time get to social along with neighbours next door, but also the next floor. Social engagement programs spreading all over to promote elderly to walk around during their free time, stimulate them to organize themselves and use the public place for programs. In order to encounter security issues, programs that more towards to publics engagement will place near to ground.

AXONOMETRIC.jpg

The idea of switching the kitchen and living is to open up a bigger living with folding door design as extension for gatherings. The intention of combining units is to promote mutual help from neighbours or friends around, also to resolve and cater families that refuse to stay with their parents under the same roof.

eg. elderly stay in Type A, son with his family in Type B, interconnected with the front yard, like they used to have during their terrace stay.
