An idea of having ‘connectivity’ as the main keyword. As Balik Pulau, Penang, is more to a rural village, each of their house are isolated, but they cam socialize with each others well, which most of the people are losing nowadays. Considering the center walkway as the main axis, connecting each and every building, landscape and people together, bringing back past time atmosphere.
The mains and others

One of the view from the exterior, to the walkway, the exhibition gallery building, the existing Chinese house and also the newly added event space. Both façade of the event space and gallery uses the egg-crate pattern but they differ in their own direction. From the walkway you will see the one with full panels of the egg-crate but another only uses half of it. This is to indicate both of the spaces are different, with different activities going on in it.

On the right side, the smaller picture indicates the existing old structure façade before the side of it turning into a main walkway. The façade of the old structure is use as a ‘gallery façade’, where people can enjoy the paintings by the painter. The stairs link to the upper floor which is the workshop aka event space and the exhibition gallery. Towards to the end of the walkway you will see the park, with raised timber plank pathway, as the original of the land at the durian farm was bumpy and rugged.
